The Riverside Lodge is an absolute dream for a particular
type of traveler. If you're looking for the up all night,
kids drinkin beer until dawn in the internet room kind of
place, this isn't it. But if you want a safe, clean place
to lay your head at night, it's perfect.

The place is a simple private owned independent hostel
and runed by 3 ladies. It is a really clean place and the
owner set a high value on guest's cooperation to keep it that
way. If you are looking for a place to stay where it is quite
and clean that is the place ! It is defently not the party
hostel typ but it is a uncomplicated and clean place. Overall
we enjoyed staying and had a good time.

Clean, spacious, independant, well organized and quiet. It's
a little on the outskirts of Berlin but the Metro takes care
of that. The place is very spacious, you get huge, huge lockers,
lots of covers and a great big soft pillow. This place was
fantastic!

Was suprised how large and nice our room was for a hostel.
We booked a double and the bed was huge! The staff were very
friendly and really went out of their way to help us in anyway
they could. Highly recommended.

This was an excellent hostel. The staff were very kind and
personally met you upon your arrival. I felt very welcome
and at home. The hostel provided privacy within the large
room and it was very clean - so clean you didn't need shoes!
As a small hostel, this was a great hostel to meet people!
I would definately stay here again.

Had a great time in this hostel. The ownerwere both awesome.
The place was clean and secure. It is located away from the
city centre but is easily accessible by the underground and
the night buses, but that adds to it's charm. An outdoor market
on Tuesdays and Fridays (summer only?) was just steps away.
A small intimate hostel with a wonderful staff and I would
highly recommend it. Would definitely stay here again.

Close to the metro, *super clean*, friendly staff, spacious
nicely furnished rooms. If you want breakfast, make sure you
request it the day before! There is continental option, or
the staff will make you ham and eggs for 3 or 3.5 euro. By
far the best hostel I've ever stayed in.

This is the a pretty new hostel and is the cleanest I've stayed
in. The place is only small and looks recently renovated.
It is very spacious and comfortable. It's a quieter hostel,
so probably not for the party animals (You can always just
go out though). Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a great time at Riverside Lodge in Berlin. The hostel
has a great location, close to the river, and if you walk
a few blocks you can see a lot of bar and places to have fun
at night. The stuff is very kind and they help you in all
that they can. The rooms are very confortable and clean too.
Riverside Lodge is definitly a great place to have good times
in Berlin. PD: Try the breakfast, it is delicious!

So clean you could eat off the floor. really nice women running
it who look after your travel needs with sound advice. clean
comfy futons to sleep on, enough privacy considering its a

I have nothing but good things to say about this hostel. Everything
was great, from the character to the food and service, it
made our stay something we will never forget. It was one of
the cleanest hostel i have ever stayed at. If you want to
have a relaxing and enjoyable time in Berlin we highly recommend
this hostel to everyone. Two thumbs up!!!!

This is the first hostel I came
to on my trip in Europe, and I think I went to the best one
first! The entire hostel is a smal place, which means you
quickly get to know people easily... the beds were well-placed
and sesigned in the 6-bed dorm, bottom bunks had a huge area
and privacy, as well as the top bunks had large beds and area
in which to place your belongings. The lockers are HUGE and
included in the price! The staff make you feel like you're
royalty sometimes- however they arent always around (reason
why you need to give them a good estimate of arrival, otherwise
you might be waiting at the pub for them to come!). Security
is easy and effective- no one comes in without a key; no one
is allowed to let others in unless they have a key! The continental
breakfast is AMAZING for the price (3.50€ when i was
there) and highly recommended. Unlimited coffee and tea made
it almost funner to just stay at the hostel and play cards
than trudge around gloomy berlin with rain clouds hovering
over! Location? The Hostel itself is a a bit off the main
course, but only by a short walk! Nearby there's tons of stores,
pubs, internet cafe's, kebap places... and it's a short train
ride/walk to the nearest major landmarks! So, the long and
the short- this is by far the best hostel I've ever been to,
and I will deffinately stay there again if I am in Berlin
again!

Great hostel - the best by far. Has everything you need plus
privacy (even in the 6 bed dorm!). The staff is nice and helpful.
Breakfast is good. Internet. Great location (near a U-Bahn
stop). Cleanest place I've seen. Would stay again.

Riverside Lodge is a great place to stay. We were met by
a very friendly member of staff who went out of her way to
ensure we knew the places to see in Berlin during our stay
from sightseeing to tobaganing, xmas markets to nightlife.
The hostel is by far the cleanest i have ever stayed in. Although
the location is not that central, the underground/subway is
less than 5mins walk away and Alexanderplatz is just a couple
of stops on the U8. If you have some spare cash a cab is about
8-10 euro. The kitchen is however rather small and I fear
if the hostel was at full capacity at the time of our stay
we would have struggled to cook a meal comfortably if at all.
Having said that there are cheap resturants and places to
eat nearby. Overall i would recommend this hostel - clean
and warm and the owner even got up at 5am to drive us to the
airport for a cheaper fare than a cab - you can't ask for
more than that.

LOVE the Riverside Lodge! The owner will do everything they
can to make your stay peaceful and stressfree. It is close
to the metro and in a quiet, diverse residential community.
The feel of the place is very zen! If you are looking to REALLY
discover Berlin (and not just for the beer), this is the place!

We thought this hostel was great!! It was brand new and decorated
with a great river/seaside theme!! The bedrooms and shared
bathrooms were impeccably clean. Breakfast was additional
cost but of a high quality. Also liked having snacks and drinks
for sale. The staff were very helpful and friendly and it
was located just a couple of minutes walk to a u-bahn stop.
Giant lockers are provided for everyone, which made it incredibly
safe. A couple of observations though, it was not as cheap
as we expected after breakfast each day, linen and internet
access. All of which is typically included at hostels. But
hey I guess you pay for quality!! Also if you after a party
atmosphere this is probably not the place for you. Will be
recommeding to everyone I know going to Berlin! Just to emphasis
this is a great place to stay.

Nice place. Very clean. Quiet when I was there. Owners are
really nice. Close to the metro. Not a party scene at all
in this hostel. If you are looking for a pleasant/quiet place
to stay then this place is perfect.

This is the best hostel we have stayed in. It was absolutely
immaculate, the beer was cheap, the beds comfortable and the
bathrooms HUGE and lovely! The owners were the nicest we have
met in all our travels and were always keen to give advice
and point us in the right direction. They made our stay in
Berlin fabulous and made us feel like one of the locals! We
stayed in a double room which was very artistically decorated
(something that they didnt have to do but it is this attention
to detail which is so special) but the 6-bed dorm was something
else! It almost made us want to stay there instead! Very private
and sapcious. The area the hostel is in is great with lots
of beautiful eateries close by as well as great pubs. It is
also only a short ride into the centre of Berlin or a short
walk to Checkpoint Charlie. in short, this was one of the
best hostels that we have ever come across. It is not a party
hostel but if you want to have a very fulfilling experience
and have somewhere lovely to come home to after a long day
sight-seeing, it is for you! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Our group is well-traveled and has seen our share of hostels
across the world. However, nothing could prepare us for Riverside
Lodge. We were greeted by two of the warmest and kindest people
we could have hoped to meet. They provided us with valuable
activity advice, a carefree atmosphere, and a contagious enthusiasm.
This is by far the most enjoyable lodging experience I have
ever had; in Europe or the U.S. Our next trip to Berlin will
absolutely include the Riverside Lodge.

This hostel is by far one of the cleanest, newest, and most
professional hostels I have ever visited. The staff works
very hard to make their guests feel at home. I recommend this
hostel for young professionals who travel to Europe often
and who want to use their money wisely, but also want quality.

Riverside, Jutta y Eliane. Es un lugar bien situado, a apenas
cuatro paradas de metro de Alexander Platz, tranquilo y cerca
del cual uno puede encontrar desde restaurantes de buena comida
a muy bien precio (el Eckbert, creo que se dice) a ultramarinos
o lugares cerca del río donde tomar el sol o hacer
una barbacoa. Yo recomiendo este lugar porque, además,

The people that own this place are amazing. Their breakfasts
are great, especially their eggs. The dorms are ultra clean
and if you are lucky you may get a double bed. It is great
if you want to wind down and feel as if you are living at
home with rooommates.

This was my favorite place to stay by far. The staff is incredible,
the place is new, amazingly maintained, and wonderfully quaint.
It's not right next door to anything necessarily, but the
staff will make it perfectly easy to get to anywhere you're
going. Oh, and the breakfast was so good, you feel guilty
about how little you paid.

If you want an antique-filled turn-of-last-century boudoir
look elsewhere. But if you want a bright, sunny, progressive
place with the friendliest staff imaginable, at a very reasonable
price, then the Riverside Lodge is a great choice. The rooms
are all new, and while they don't have a lot of quirks, they
are very clean, and certainly comfortable. We didn't take
advantage of any of the many activities offered, including
boating, biking (and even wild west horse riding!) but we
did appreciate their existence, and wished that we had more
time to use them. A very pleasant surprise was the neighborhood
market that lined the street near the river. I'm not sure
when or how often it's there, but it's a real gem, with a
great mix of Middle Eastern, North African, and of course,
German goods and food available. The main thing, though, was
just how dedicated the staff was to helping us with any problems.
This is a far cry from the aloof and uncaring attitude in
many hostels and pensions.

I went to Europe and stayed in 10 different hostels..... Riverside
Lodge was one the best hostels..... The location is very good
because it is near the station. Moreover, if you ride a bike,
from the hostel you can visit all main places in Berlim. The
security and cleanliness of this hostel is compared to those
of good hotels.... it is simply incredible! The room and bathroom
are big and comfortable... And the staffs are really kind
and friendly! They are very helpful and give you all orientations
about Berlim!!! It is one of the hostels I recommend to all
travellers....

I want to thank for a great time at their Lodge. A great place
to stay also when you travel alone and are over 40 :-) The
cabins are a very smart way to have some privacy in a room
with 6 beds. I recomand this place to all travellers!!!! Til
alle norske/svenske/danske: Dette er et kjempefint sted å
bo. Sentral beliggenhet, kjempehyggelig vertskap, noe privatliv
på flermannsrom pga de smarte kabinene, rent og pent!!

Comes highly recommended - makes a nice change from the huge
hostels dotted around Berlin and other big cities! The two
women who run the hostel are really friendly and gave us a
guided tour of the area on the first night, including pointing
out the best of the riverside restaurants and cafes. This
is also the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed in, with fantastically
posh bathrooms! It looks a little out of the way on the hostelworld.com
map, but is actually in a really nice area that is still quite
central and really easy to reach on the highly efficient u-bahn
network. Excellent value for money and would definitely stay
there again.
